PARAMYXO CAN'T STOP
ADELAIDE INTERNATIONAL PIGEON EXPO.
It is full steam ahead for next year's Adelaide International Pigeon
Expo featuring champion English flyer Geoff Cooper.
Despite the paramyxo scare in Victoria, North Suburban Club and its
partner the Long Distance Club have determined that the January 7 event
will go ahead.
The only concession made is to regretfully withdraw Victorian squeakers
from the sale. Last year Victorian breeders backed the event and it is
a disappointment, but it was thought that the risks were too great.
Victorian flyers are certainly welcome to attend and take home
youngsters. Apart from the best South Australian lofts, a special
effort is being made to source squeakers from all States, including
Queensland, Tassie and W.A.
This year's S.A. points winners Nenad Stojakovic and Dennis Shaw
(Adelaide Race Lofts) have promised babies from their best.
Sydney's Dr. Rob Marshall will join Geoff Cooper on the dais and will
consult with flyers and their birds on Sunday morning.
Geoff Cooper's loft was in devastating form this year, winning
International races across the water.
Birds imported to Australia from his lofts earlier this year have
featured in several one loft and classic races in S.A. and Victoria.
Long distance Club's Gavin Harris acknowledged that some interstate
flyers had already made bookings and planned their holidays to be in
Adelaide, so a postponement was never a reality.
So pigeon flyers from all over Australia, make the call to head to
Adelaide on January 7.
