INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USE OF THE TOULET-SUPER PIGEON CLOCK
OPENING THE CLOCK.
In order to open the clock push the small sealing pin down and pull the sealing lever well over to the right.
By doing this the time of opening is printed in hours and minutes on the paper roll.
NOTE : It is impossible to open the lid before the print is made.
SETTING AND PREPARATION FOR TIMING-IN.
1. The clock is opened by lifting the lid.
2. Take off the drum which is around the
face of the clock.
3. Lift the whole of the clock out its
case and put it on its face.
4. Wind up with the key supplied.
5. Stop the clock by pushing the small
red lever on to STOP.
6.After the clock has stopped. NOT BEFORE,
loosen the two small milled nuts but do not remove. Set to the time it
is intended to start the clock by revolving the nuts and the plate to which
they are attached. Re-tighten the nuts after setting.
7. Put the day indicator (under the dial)
to 1 by turning the red day button.
Note : The first time the timing-in lever is pulled the clock will start automatically.
8.Attach the end of the paper on the roll to the hook on the spool, turn the spool two or three times by means of the milled nut on the top and so secure the paper. See there is sufficient paper on the roll the number of birds you desire to time in up to 10.
9.Replace the clock in its case, making
sure that it is in the proper position.
10.Replace the drum on the face with the
red mark visible through the timing hole on the top of the drum and under
the ring hole in the lid. The teeth on the drum must engage with the teeth
on the plate of the clock.
CLOSING THE CLOCK
1. Make sure that the sealing lever on the lid is over to the right and that the slot on the plate of the clock into which it engages is in the correct position, le. the red dot in line with the red slot.
2. Close the lid.
3.Turn the sealing catch to the left, hold the sealing pin down and push the catch over it, pin will then come up and clock can be sealed. The time the clock was closed will now have been printed automatically on the paper in hours and minutes 1Le. The setting time.
REPLACING THE PAPER ROLL
1 Unscrew the wheel which holds the roll on the spool.
2 Put the roll on the spindle so that the psiper will come off in a clockwise manner, taking it between the ink ribbon and the pad.
3 Screw the wheel in to spindle.
4 Take the paper round the rollers and all the way round the clock to the take up spool.
FITTING A NEW INK RIBBON
The ribbon is fixed on the two tubes which are on the two rods.
To remove the ribbon it is only necessary to pull the tubes off the rods and new ribbon can be fixed on the tubes and replaced.
Note : When the ribbon prints faintly hrough use a new one should be fitted. It is not recommended to re-ink the ribbon as this would soil the printing discs.
METHOD OF TIMING-IN.
Put the rubber ring, with or without thimble, in the drum and pull the timing-in lever as far as it will go.
POINTS WHICH CAN BE SEEN WHEN CLOCK IS SEALED
1. Hour and Minutes hand.
2. Index number of 1 to 6 stating the
number of days the clock has run.
3. Index number of 1 to 24 stating the
number of hours the clock has run.
4. Winding indicator, red hand and dial
numbered 1 to 7, stating how much clock has been wound.
By watching the hand when winding, clock is wound fully when at 7.
READING THE PRINTS.
In the order commencing at the extreme left of the print are the numbers for the
DAY
HOUR
MINUTES
The second is indicated by the hand on
the dial.
A. Index lever to stop the clock.
B. Ink ribbon rods.
C. Paper roll.
D. Take-up spool.
E. Spool lever.
F. Plate with nuts to set clock to the
time.
G. Button to set the day.
